‘Old fashioned’ dolls, cars and carshows off the top of a car
NEW YORK (AP) In the 1920s, American consumers loved a certain kind of retro toy: Old fashioned dolls.
And in the 1960s, the dolls were a major part of the entertainment world.
Now, many of those toys are being made in China, a new trade report from the Associated Press shows.
The AP examined a variety of products made in the U.S. by Chinese manufacturers over the past several years, finding that many of them are part of a broader trend toward Chinese-made toys.
The report shows that Chinese manufacturers are also making toys that resemble modern-day American cars, including some that look more like cars than toys.
“These are products that look like cars and they’re not the sort of toys you would buy in a supermarket,” said Amy Pugh, senior director of trade policy and programs at the Center for Auto Politics, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy group that advocates for greater American involvement in the global auto industry.
“You’d see the big, flashy toys and the little ones, and it was kind of an old-fashioned way of trying to differentiate yourself from the competition.”
A U.K.-based toy maker said it is developing an electric car, but that the project has not yet been finalized.
It said it has made some progress toward developing a plug-in hybrid vehicle, but declined to elaborate.
The carmaker, Nissan, has a subsidiary in Shanghai, where the Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles, BYD, has been expanding its plant and hiring.
The two companies are making electric vehicles that will go on sale later this year.
The AP found that Chinese companies made more than 80 percent of the toys sold in the United States in 2016.
Chinese toys that look just like modern-era cars are increasingly being made by companies in China.
Chinese factories now make more than 100 million vehicles a year, more than any other nation, the AP found.
They make a wide range of cars, from the classic sports car to a sporty, high-performance SUV, from luxury to a luxury car with a sport seat.
While the United Kingdom has been selling cars for decades, it has not had a significant number of cars made in Britain since it joined the European Union in 1973.
But since the Chinese government began a campaign to open up to foreign carmakers in 2010, Chinese automakers have been able to import large numbers of cars from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
In recent years, Chinese companies have begun to build some of their own vehicles, such as a new sports car and a luxury sedan that are more likely to have more of a premium feel.
There are no hard numbers on the number of Chinese toys made, but the AP estimates that about 80 percent are made by Chinese companies, with the rest made by foreign companies.
In 2016, about one-third of toys were made in America, up from about 20 percent in 2015.
A spokeswoman for Nissan declined to comment.
Toyota did not respond to a request for comment.
But a spokeswoman for BYD said the company does not manufacture cars in China but has invested heavily in research and development.
China has long been one of the world’s largest car markets, with imports of cars and other parts of its economy more than doubling in the past decade.
But it has been growing slowly, and analysts say that is due in part to a combination of a slowing economy and the U!
S.-China Free Trade Agreement, which restricts imports of Chinese goods.
On Tuesday, the U.-S.
State Department warned that China could restrict imports of American goods if it doesn’t accept the new trade deal.
Some experts say China will probably never agree to such a deal because it is more worried about its own economy than about its trade advantage with the United State.
As a result, it will continue to pursue its own agenda, such a trade deal or a trade war with the U., said John W. White, a trade expert at the Brookings Institution.
Despite its economic success, China has a long way to go to match its success with the international community, said Dan M. Steinberg, a China expert at George Mason University.
China has done more to restrict American exports than any country in the world, he said.
But Steinberg said that, in the long run, China’s trade restrictions have hurt the American economy.
“They’ve hurt the U.,” he said of China.
Many of China’s cars and vehicles are being imported from Japan.
The country’s biggest carmaker is Toyota, which has invested in a new plant in Shanghai and plans to open a factory in the next two years.
And the company has a large car fleet that it plans to sell overseas, and is making more cars in Europe.
